SOLAR REPS

The tax credit used to close for you. Now it’s on you.

Three field guides with the word-for-word lines for the door, the kitchen table, and ‘didn’t the tax credit go away?’

You know these three moments.

  • At the doorYou get a few seconds before it closes.
  • At the kitchen tableThey like you. Then: ‘Let me think about it.’
  • When the credit comes up‘Didn’t the tax credit go away?’ and you’re making it up as you go.

Each one comes down to the words you use. These books give you the words.

Here’s what a page looks like.

01 “Not interested.”

Acknowledge
“Totally fair.”
Ask
“Is it solar in general, or just not a good time?”
Answer
“If it’s solar in general, no problem at all. If it’s timing, I can come back when it suits you.”
Advance
“Would tomorrow at [time] or [time] work for 45 minutes?”

Rep note: If it’s solar in general, thank them and log the door. If they say don’t come back, mark it so no one on your team knocks it again.

Practice this: Your partner says “Not interested” three ways: flat, rushed, friendly. Run all four beats each time in under 20 seconds, then switch.

Objection card 01, from Book 1
  1. Acknowledge

Who wrote these

My first pitch got doors slammed.

When I started, I couldn’t find a written process to follow. My first pitch was “Hi, my name is Damien, are you interested in solar?” Doors got slammed.

Book 1 is the door process I wish I’d had that first week, written down so you can practice it from your first day. One pitch, one way, in lines you can say plainly.

I’ve sold, set and trained in solar. No book can promise you a result, and these won’t. Read one, say the lines out loud with a partner, and use one new piece at your next door or table.

A word-for-word door process, from the knock to a booked appointment.

79 PDF pages · 10 door steps · 12 objection cards

You’ll be able to

  • Get out of the car and knock, using the 60-second rule.
  • Plan your first 15 seconds at the door.
  • Ask the 6 bill questions, then qualify.
  • Set a time that holds, with every decision-maker there.
  • Answer 12 doorstep objections in four beats.

From the book · The Hardest Door Is the Car Door

Once a day, at the start of your shift:

  1. Park.
  2. Be out of the car within 60 seconds.
  3. Walk to the nearest house that isn’t posted no-soliciting or on your do-not-knock list.
  4. Knock.

Park. Sixty seconds. Nearest door. Knock.

Read a door card: “Not interested.”

Front cover of Book 2, The Kitchen Table Playbook, from Day One Field Guides, by Damien Day

Book 2 · For closers

The Kitchen Table Playbook

A step-by-step two-visit process, from the door to the signature. Visit one has no numbers. Visit two has their numbers and a clear ask.

148 PDF pages · 35 steps in 8 phases · 15 objection cards

You’ll be able to

  • Run visit one: rapport, discovery, the bill and the 6 Main Questions.
  • Run visit two: recap, design, the decision and the paperwork.
  • Explain cash, loan, lease and PPA in plain words, plus credit checks and the UCC filing.
  • Walk the paperwork and the fine print, then handle buyer’s remorse and cancellations.
  • Follow 35 step cards: what to say, what to do and why it works.
  • Answer 15 objections at the table in four beats.
  • Keep the deals you write, from the welcome call to pull-through.

Includes manager pages, a manager’s scorecard and a 30-day ramp plan.

Read one card, word for word

01 “We need to think about it.”

Acknowledge
“That makes sense. It’s a big decision.”
Ask
“So I can help you think it through: what part are you still weighing? The payment, the company, or whether solar fits your home at all?”
Answer
“If it’s [what they said], let’s look at that piece now while I’m here, so you’re thinking with all the facts. If you still want time after that, that’s completely fine.”
Advance
“So how much time do you think you need to be able to make your educated decision?” Then set ten minutes on that day.

Field note: Don’t let it get to that point. Discovery is your best friend: “think about it” usually means a question you never asked.

Practice this: Say Answer 01 your own way, out loud three times, while your partner ticks □ Straight □ Clear □ Calm □ Ended on a next step.

Front cover of Book 3, The No-Credit Close, from Day One Field Guides, by Damien Day

Book 3 · For setters, closers and managers

The No-Credit Close

The 30% federal credit for homeowner-owned systems ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025 (IRS Fact Sheet FS-2025-05). This is what to say now.

75 PDF pages · 20 objection cards · 7-step close

You’ll be able to

  • Say yes to “Didn’t the tax credit go away?” in your first sentence, then bridge to their bill.
  • Use Bill, Backup, Budget in place of the old pitch.
  • Answer 20 post-credit objections in four beats, from waiting for prices to drop to talking to a spouse.
  • Run the 7-step straight close.
  • Use the talk track for the doorstep, a virtual appointment or the kitchen table.
  • Managers: roll it out with a 4-week huddle guide and a certification scorecard.

Read one card, word for word

01 “I heard the tax credit is gone.”

Acknowledge
“You heard right. The 30% federal credit ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025.”
Ask
“Was the credit the main reason you’d have looked at solar, or was it the bill?”
Answer
“Without the credit, the math has to stand on its own: your bill, your rate, the financing and any backup value. For some homes it still works and for some it doesn’t. That’s what we check. Lease and PPA terms are different. I can walk you through what my company offers, and you can compare in writing.”
Advance
“Want me to run your bill so you can see either way?”

Rep note: Say it plainly and early. Never hint the credit is coming back, and never explain lease or PPA tax rules beyond what your company approves.

Practice this: Your partner opens with “Didn’t the tax credit go away?” Say yes in the first sentence, then bridge to their bill in two more.

It’s for you if you’re…

  • A setter who knocks doors or follows up by phone
  • A closer who runs in-home or virtual appointments
  • A new rep who wants the whole job in writing from day one
  • A manager who trains reps (Books 2 and 3 have sections for managers)

Probably not for you if…

  • You’re a homeowner. These are training books for reps.
  • You want income promises. No book can make them, and these don’t.
  • You want video. These are books, in PDF and Word.
  • You already own one of them. Buy the others on their own instead.

30-day full refund, no questions asked.

Use it at your doors and tables for a week. If it’s not worth it, email [email protected] anytime in the 30 days, get every dollar back, and keep the files. There’s no waiting period and you don’t need to give a reason. A refund isn’t a promise of appointments, sales or income.

Questions

I’m only a setter, or only a closer. Is the set still for me?

Yes, if you want to see the whole job. Book 1 is written for setters, Book 2 for closers, and Book 3 for setters, closers and managers. If you only need one, each book is also sold on its own.

I already own one of the books. Should I get the set?

Probably not. Buy the other books on their own instead: Book 1 is $27, Book 2 is $47, Book 3 is $47.

Is this a video course?

No. It’s three books. Your download page has a PDF and a Word file for each one. The PDF reads fine on a phone; the Word file is for printing and editing.

Will it fit my company’s scripts and rules?

The lines are written to be said plainly, and you fill in the [brackets] with your company’s real facts. Where your company’s approved scripts, disclosures or local rules say something different, follow them.

Do the books cover leases and PPAs?

Book 2 explains cash, loan, lease and PPA in plain words, and credit checks and the UCC filing. Book 3’s first card says never to explain lease or PPA tax rules beyond what your company approves.

Is it up to date now that the tax credit has ended?

Book 3 is written for it. The 30% federal credit for homeowner-owned systems ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025 (IRS Fact Sheet FS-2025-05). All three books are written for selling now that it’s gone; Book 3 is built around it.

Can my team use it?

One purchase is one person’s license. For a team, see the Book 3 Team License (up to 10 reps) or the other team options.

How do I get it?

Your download page opens right after checkout, and we email you the link. It has a PDF and a Word file for each book, and Stripe emails your receipt. Lost it? Log in with the email you paid with, or email [email protected].

What’s the refund policy?

30-day full refund, no questions asked, and you keep the files. Use it at your doors and tables for a week. If it’s not worth it, email us anytime in the 30 days and get every dollar back. There’s no waiting period and you don’t need to give a reason. See the Refund Policy.

What happens to the price after Nov 15?

The Complete Set is $97 through Nov 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT. Starting Nov 16 it is $137.

Will this increase my sales or income?

We can’t promise that, and we don’t. Results depend on you, your market and your company.

Read it tonight. Use it tomorrow.
